8/25/06 Show - Love Part 1: The Bitter

It was just like one of those movies where two people meet. At first they hate each other. "You are just impossible!" one of them says to the other. But then they start to realize that the hate is really love. There's a little problem though. You see, one of them has promised to marry some rich jerk. The other one, in a Grand Hilarious Gesture, rushes off to the wedding in hopes of stopping it. Except they don't make it. Or they get hit by a bus. Or they do make it but the other one decides that they'd still rather be with the rich jerk. Or maybe even all three. Oh, and Julia Roberts gets crabs. Again.

I can't help with the crabs, Julia, but I can provide you with some music that you may relate to. All songs about love. Love where there are no Pretty Women and Harry Gets Cheated On By Sally. The bitter, failed side of love. It's never sounded so good:

8/18/06 Show - Continental Europe

Oh Europe, you are a gorgeous bitch. A moist thrill indeed, to be savored like a meal of roasted jackrabbit. 3 hours was simply not enough time to spend in your lovers embrace. Less than a fortnight has passed and how I already long for your touch. Pehaps soon, we will be duly reunited and dance the jig of wanton carnalities, as we dine on spiced meats and rub their drippings all over heaving, naked bosoms, glistening under the summer moonlight.

Until then, we have only this MP3 to serve as a reminder of our triste. Let it wet our appetites as a playful tease, before giving ourselves over so completely to sweet, sweet surrender and devilishly wicked abandon:

8/11/06 Show - The Midwest

Rock 'N Roll began in the Midwest. Well, not really but it was a Midwesterner that first coined the term "Rock 'N Roll". By the way, before I write "Rock 'N Roll" one more time, can you tell if I'm writing it correctly? Should the apostrophe be after the "N" or before? Or both? I've never quite figured that whole 'N (or N' or 'N') business out. Anyway, it was a DJ from Cleveland that first said it and the world has been confused ever since.

And in these times of confusion, I have found that downloading MP3s can be a soothing escape from the swirling madness of the streets. By the way, is it "MP3's" or "MP3s"? Never mind, I won't get into that again. Just follow this link to hear the show, as the Iriquois Indians did when they sailed across Lake Michigan all those years ago:

8/4/06 Show - Australia, New Zealand, and You

They come from the land down under, where women grow and men plunder (huh?). All songs by bands that either came from Australia and New Zealand or bands that decided to concoct an elaborate ruse in an effort to pretend like they were from Australia and New Zealand. Why they would do that, I have no idea but if they did, I can only tip my cap to them. Got me there.

You might not think of good music when you think of Australia/New Zealand but I can assure you that Australia/New Zealand doesn't think of you either when they think of good music. Not that you don't make good music. You might. Australia/New Zealand just doesn't know you that well and maybe you don't know them that well either. In which case, I would suggest downloading this mp3 and later listening to it:
