3/31/06 - New Songs That Sound Old

Instead of playing post-punk or new wave music from the late 70s/early 80s, I played music that sounded just like that other stuff except it was made only a few years ago. I was trying to make the point of "Hey!"

This link will give you two tickets to paradise:

The playlist went a little something like this:

Out Of The Streets And Onto The Race Track - The Rapture
Fell In Love With A Girl - The White Stripes
Godhopping - Dog's Die In Hot Cars
I Am - Moving Units
Eyes Wide Open - Radio 4
Jacqueline - Franz Ferdinand
Obstacle 1 - Interpol
These Things - She Wants Revenge
For People Unknown - Windsor For The Derby
I Wouldn't Go Out With Me Either - Viewfinder
Your Retro Career Has Melted - The Faint
No Yellow Lines - Mount Sims
Nite Life - Adult.
Love Love Love - Glass Candy
1st Day - The Futureheads
Banquet - Bloc Party
Melting Moon - VHS or Beta
No Brakes - The Bravery
The Recluse - Cursive
Pitfall - Film School
Entertainer - The Good Life
Hate To Say I Told You So - The Hives
Love Burns - BRMC
The High Party - Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
Jazz Makes Me Nervous - The Fuses
Club Foot - Kasabian
Sorry Sorry - Rooney
Living In America - The Sounds
She's Lost Total Control - Ryan Adams
Short Drive - Gerty
Formed A Band - Art Brut
Changes Are No Good - The Stills
Mr. You're On Fire - The Liars
(here's where my Jerry Springer Final Thought was)

First of all, "askinstoo", you sneaky Charlie you, stop it!

Second, Fleeble, thanks for the kind words. I still don't understand this Podcast business. I know how to turn the link to my show folder into an RSS file and then I've tried posting it in places yet...that doesn't seem to do anything. People can at least download the MP3s directly from my online storage space but shit, yeah, I want to figure out how to podcast. Can you help?

There's a free service called Feedburner that can help you syndicate your site with "podcasting elements", whatever those are. Go to, type in your site URL, and check "I am a podcaster". Good luck!
