Old New York Show - 10/5/09

New York, the city so nice, they made up some little rhyme about it. Although maybe not surprisingly, it was during the city's low point that some of the best music to ever come out of any city came out. Starting with the Velvet Underground and continuing through the CBGB's scene in the late 70's, New York is the birthplace of punk and post-punk music as well as the next phase in counterculture, post-hippie. Tonight I played songs from that timeline and just for kicks, recorded the whole thing. You can download it below.

Cool! So glad to hear it, as always. Which Halloween show are you looking for? The one I did last year is still downloadable at:

I've got a new one this year and will post that soon. I can post the one from 2006 too, if you want.

Yes, actually I was thinking of the 2006 show, that was a really good one.

I haven't listened to the new one yet. I generally listen on your show on the weekends.

As long as you were posting back up old shows, the drug special was great.

Hey Thomas,

Sorry it took me so damn long and we missed Halloween here but I did finally upload my original Halloween show from 2006. The link is at the bottom of my post for this year's Halloween episode. I'll put that drug one up soon too.
