Underrated Show - 1/04/10

These were many of my very favorite bands playing some of my very favorite jams and bands I would also consider vastly underrated in the grand scheme of things. Really, of course, ALL post-punk and new wave music is underrated. Far too often dismissed as style over substance, post-punk was incredibly innovative, diverse, and creative in a way music had not seen before nor has since. That said, there certainly were some bands that managed to persevere and while never completely break through to the mainstream in America, still attracted legions of fans who respect them (The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, etc.). Then there were some that managed to earn the respect of snobby critics too (Devo, Elvis Costello, Joy Division, Talking Heads, etc.) These guys were left off of my underrated show but hopefully know I will always love them too. The bands I featured tonight were ones I felt should have either been recognized as being truly great or at least relegated to more than one-dimensional 80s nostalgia. I know there are those out there who do recognize this and it's been my life's pleasure to be a part of your club. Hopefully history will join us soon.

Old New York Show - 10/5/09

New York, the city so nice, they made up some little rhyme about it. Although maybe not surprisingly, it was during the city's low point that some of the best music to ever come out of any city came out. Starting with the Velvet Underground and continuing through the CBGB's scene in the late 70's, New York is the birthplace of punk and post-punk music as well as the next phase in counterculture, post-hippie. Or maybe he said the chicken thing to him. I honestly don't remember. Was that movie really that good? I don't remember that either. But that kind of factors into my show for this night. In honor of Gay Pride Weekend, which was over a week ago, I played all bands with a gay artist or artists or possibly bisexual or in one case, transgendered or in another case, transsexual. These were certainly some important people to the punk/post-punk/new wave/alternative genre but really it is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of music and the tip of Mt. Everest when it comes to entertainment as a whole. As I said several times on the show and now once on this blog, queer peoples' contribution to the arts is something to be truly admired and respected. While other major record companies had some post-punk and new wave artists signed to their labels, Virgin was really the only one dedicated to the genre. And by doing so, they were able to build a giant corporate empire. Of course there will always be Johnny Haterz out there who are against anything big and corporate but when it comes to Virgin, that is the incorrect opinion to have. Sir Richard Branson, Nik Powell, and Simon Draper, who founded the label, did things the right way and deserve a ton of credit for growing the post-punk/new wave sound and bringing it to our ears. This is their story!

PS. I didn't play Devo even though they were distributed by Virgin in the UK. I guess I just figured being in the US myself, it would be wrong to think that but as I type this, I realize that was stupid. Still a fine collection of songs though.

A little less than a year ago, I returned to the radio with Post-Punk For Post-Punks and a dream. A dream of a free Tibet. In 1986, British weekly music publication, New Music Express, released a mail-order mix tape sampler called C-86 featuring 22 fairly new bands that represented a new direction and scene for independent music. While some people, including the NME itself, may dispute how much of a real direction and scene there really was at the release of C-86, it's hard to dispute that this cassette completely changed the face of music in Britain, both right away and in the future. I guess the new time slot change didn't fix everything. I had hoped it would give me more time to do a show but in fact, all it did was make my show during a different time. And time is something I am kind of low on at the minute so I'm afraid Post-Post For Post-Punks will have to go on hiatus for forever or possibly even longer than that. My hope is that some day, some how, I will be able to eventually get back on the radio in some capacity. My Super Hope is that the capacity I will be able to get back on involves me sitting by a waterfall drinking a glass of scotch.

But until then, this is goodbye. I have no idea how many people listened but I can't tell you all how much I appreciated the fact that that each and every one of you did listen. If you ever want me to listen to you some day, I'd be glad to return the favor. And if you ever want to hear music not unlike the music I played, I would recommend checking out some of the other shows on Pirate Cat Radio, specifically Menacing Intentions, on Tuesdays from 10-Midnight. Yes the classics. The post-punk and new wave songs that will be remembered long after we're dead. And there is a reason for that. Them being remembered. Not only because our ghosts will haunt future generations and occasionally sing these songs but because they truly were great. Do we all get a little sick of them sometimes? Sure. Were there other post-punk and new wave songs deserving, sometimes more deserving, that should be remembered instead? Perhaps. Do I like asking myself questions and then answering them? A little bit. Am I going to stop doing it? Probably. Should I maybe stop doing it now and talk about something, anything else, maybe even ghosts? Okay okay, I'll talk about ghosts. Ghosts really like good music. You don't need a solid body to enjoy music. Ghosts also get to look back at their life with 20/20 vision and realize certain things, important things like, "I should have eaten more toast" or "Man, those classic post-punk and new wave songs really were good - much better than I might have given them credit for in my sad, toast-less life."

So here's your chance to avoid that gloomy future. Take a moment to appreciate and re-realize what made these songs classics in the first place. And if you get a little hungry in the process, consider having a slice of toast. You can even ask yourself if you want toast and then answer yourself too. It really is fun! And here's that mp3 link:

6/4/07 Show - Lesser-Known Bands of Post-Punk

These were the bands that never could quite catch a break. Even on my show, dedicated solely to them, there were technical problems, blimp problems, blimp attacks, emotionally distant blimps, and a Leprechaun that only I could see. First off, occasionally, when I had a CD queued up but wasn't ready to play it, it would just play by itself anyway. Thanks. That's a good quality in a CD player. The there was the funny little problem where that same funny little CD player, the right side of it, where it would only play one channel of audio. So some of these songs come to you in the magic of mono. For all of you musicians out there hoping to make it, remember that it's not just about how well you write songs or play your instruments or whether or not you have the look or whatever. To be remembered, you also have to be good at curse-avoiding. Or at least, better than these bands were.

But to you the listnener, I hope you won't let a little thing like a gypsy curse stand in the way of your listening. The gypsy's had no homes! How bad could their curses really be? The Leprechaun is a larger issue but as far as I can tell, he is not present on this link to last night's show:

All songs by many of the classic post-punk artists that never made it onto a proper album. Proper meaning an album of superior breeding, manners, and gentlemanly gamesmanship. These songs only existed on albums of ill repute. Boorish albums of the lower class. Dickensian urchins, not really our sort, you know? While the popular tunes played croquet and went yachting, some of these tracks generally remained unheralded as B-sides, outtakes, demos, and whatnot. Maybe some of them were slightly heralded. I'm not really sure how you herald something in the first place but I would like to learn.

Maybe just by playing the songs and talking about them, I may have heralded them. I hope so because they're good. Or at the very least, interesting. Some people just like things because they're lesser-known, lesser appreiated. Some people think that bowling alleys got big lanes. I'm not either of those people. MP3 link is below:

My first Monday show was dedicated to the women of the punk/post-punk world. To further honor their legacy - or should I say lega-SHE, Oprah - I will abandon the usual irreverence of my blog posts and speak seriously for a few seconds: As I said last night, women like the ones below are too few and far between. Most musicians are men. The women that are involved with music are, more often than not, singers. Few of them play instruments. Even fewer of them write the music they perform. Almost none of them produce or engineer their work. All of them operate within a much more constrained box than their male counterparts. To me, that all really sucks. And not because I'm Mr. Sensitive or anything, more because I'm Mr. Self-Indulgent Pleasure Seeker. Actually Mr. Self-Indulgent Pleasure Seeker was my father. You can call me Alex. But the point is, I just want more good music. I will never be able to get enough good music. If over half the population isn't contributing as much as they could, that sucks for me. For all of us, really, but especially me.

So why is this? Why haven't women been able to contribute musically as much as men? I may be wrong on this but I honestly think the answer right now, at least in our western society is: It doesn't matter. People can either let history hold them back or let go or maybe just eat a sandwich. As much as I love sandwiches and even more, eating them, I still say we go with letting go. Sure, it's easier said than done but if you're a woman and you want to make music, there's no reason you have to play bass or keyboards instead of guitar or drums. There's no reason you can't write songs and there's no reason that those songs have to be a certain way. If the music is good, they will like it. Even if it's not good, they may like it but it's probably better to be good. That's one of the many things I love about music in the first place. It's the bottom line. People are more willing to drop their prejudices and preconceptions when they hear a damn good song than in just about any other scenario. Rock 'N' Roll itself was pretty much founded on that principal.

That's right, post title, you are completely correct. Starting Monday, May 14th my show - which abbreviated would look like this: PPFPP - is moving to Monday nights, 10 to Midnight. 10PM to Midnight, that is.

But what really is time? Websters defines time as: the system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present, or future; indefinite and continuous duration regarded as that in which events succeed one another. And now that I think about it, they are completely right. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that nothing else will change and since you are looking at this blog, you probably don't listen to the show while it's live anyway and that's probably better for all of us.

Last night, I did a show where all the songs had to do with rain in some way. This morning, I am drinking coffee trying to think of what to say about that show about rain. What is rain? Rain comes from clouds. Clouds are our enemies, yet me need rain to survive. Why would clouds, our enemies, want to help us then? The answer is simple. Clouds are stupid. If you've ever argued with a cloud, you'd know this. Clouds think we don't like rain. We do bitch about probably more often than we don't. We refer to rain as bad weather. Of course we also know that we need it but that's really a much more boring thing to talk about than say, how it totally fucked your hair for the day. The plants however, NEVER bitch about rain. They realize that they will die without it and they don't have any hair or any reason to drive. They are also our friends and don't want to to let the clouds in on the real truth.

A show in which I not only said "Peel Sessions" at least a hundred times but also played Peel Sessions versions of all your favorite punk and post-punk tunes. In case you didn't know, John Peel was by far the most influential radio DJ on those subgenres. Like no one else is even close. A wooden chair without anybody sitting in it is like, number two. Well, maybe Rodney Bingenheimer was pretty huge. He might take the chair in the race for second but don't totally count the chair out. Chairs are much more skilled than people might realize. For some reason, I was watching one of those competitive eating challenges the other night on ESPN 2 and one of the announcers actually had the audacity to refer to the competitors as "amazing athletes." In my opinion, the real amazing athletes associated with those events are the toilets everybody uses when they're done. Those might be the most amazing athletes I've ever seen or heard of.

The show that finally answered the age-old question: Which is the one true faith? Or at least what several punk and post-punk bands feel about the subject. The answer lay somewhere between atheism and snake-handling. It seemed an appropriate theme being that Sunday is what some people call Easter. As a holiday though, Easter has some problems. For one, when is it? I mean, I know I just said it's this Sunday but what day will it be on next year? No one knows! All we know is that it will be on a Sunday but there's no consistent rule as to which particular Sunday it is. Or there is a rule but it's so hopelessly complex, you could never figure it out. You'd need an abacus and moon charts. And you'd need to find an abacus, which is even harder. I think people would get much more excited if was on the same day every year. Another issue with Easter is that you don't get any time off from work or school unless you work on Sundays and your boss is nice. Still though, that's just one day. Most of us get two days off for Thanksgiving and it's not even clear what Thanksgiving really celebrates. Easter should be a much bigger deal than Thanksgiving. Jesus Christ rising from the dead and giving us all eternal salvation. That's kind of important. Plus you don't do anything cool on Easter. Painting and hunting for eggs? Supposedly left by some bunny? So what? You don't get presents or to dress up or to eat all day or watch things explode or get special sex or anything. The final problem with Easter is that the holiday's colors are kind of gay.

That pretty much sums it up. That's the story behind all of the artists I played on this evening's show. They were in a band that was fairly significant and fairly well-known and the kind of band I would play normally on my show but then they decided to prowl the badlands as either a solo artist or maybe as part of a new band or maybe just through a side project. The punk and post-punk highway is littered with these examples and I tried to give you only the finest of finery during my two radio hours of the week.

A show that featured and celebrated Britpop. Not the usual fair as I usually feature and celebrate punk and post-punk music but if it helps, many of the Britpop bands were indeed celebrating punk and post-punk by way of their own music. So in a way, it was a show within a show. Like when you see a movie about making a movie or eat a pregnant woman. I suppose you wouldn't have to eat the pregnant woman, the example could just be a pregnant woman but considering they swallowed a baby in the first place, maybe eating them would teach them how it feels. In Sweden they call that a California Cheeseburger, which has never made any sense to me. Anyway, we've veered disgustingly off subject again. Britpop had nothing to do with any of that. It was about Great Britain becoming Great Britain again. I wish the USA could do something like that. Have a name that clearly stated how cool we are (were). Become the United States of Awesome America or something. Or the Best United States of America Ever. And then we could finally change our stupid national anthem to Queen's "We Will Rock You". Queen was also from Great Britain so we know they're good.

First of all, I actually did a show. It had been 3 weeks but it felt more like I had traced my hand on a piece of paper. Which is to say, longer than 3 weeks. Secondly, the show I did focused on the great and influential producers for the post-punk era. You may not know about these producers but I assure you, they're there. It's kind of like how everybody is a skeleton, inside all of their hair and skin and muscles and bones. Well, not bones, because that is the skeleton. But anyway, thank God we don't have to see them though. Think of how scary it would be to live in the invisible world of scary skeletons. Sometimes you'll hear things like, "My brain says 'No' but my heart says 'Yes'" and I always think, it really doesn't matter what your brain and heart are saying. It's about what the skeleton is saying. Not just the insane chattering skull part either, the whole thing. The brain and heart and everything else are pretty damn useless without the skeleton. You'd just be a clump of motionless crap. Your brain likes to tell you that it controls everything but you have to consider the source. Of course it's going to tell you that. It's the brain. And it behooves your brain to make you think ("think" the operative word) that it is most important. Yeah right, motionless fragile sponge. I'd like to see you jump out of my skull and try telling me that.

So what I'm trying to get across here is that the producer can often be like your skeleton. Generally unseen, for good reason, as they're usually not as cute as guitar players but still very much in charge of what you're hearing. Sure, it could be said that the brain is like that too but that's exactly the kind of brain talk I think we should all start ignoring. Continuing on our little musical mystery tour of North America, I stopped in the sylvan wonderland of the Pacific Northwest last night and offered up a delightful platter of songs and salmon from that particular region. There are quite a few creative people up there as you will find in any place with such a high population of bears and a place known for its coffee. Take it from me, don't ever get into a coffee-drinking contest with someone from Seattle and don't get into a bear contest with a bear from just about anywhere in the world. It's suicide. Sometimes bears will be tricky about this though. They don't always come right out and tell you that they're bears. They may claim to be some long lost uncle you've never before. Chances are though, if they live in a cave and occasionally eat one of your friends, they are a bear. Or an uncle you probably shouldn't see any more.

Hey, I did a show this Friday night. I didn't do one last Friday. Don't worry though. I was okay. There's a liquor store I go to every morning that knows to report me as missing if I don't show up. But anyway, so I was back and did a whole show dedicated to The South. Hopefully this is sufficient consolation for you not winning the Civil War and for Neil Young's "Southern Man" song and for Hurricane Katrina and for all of those other hurricanes that ravage your coasts ever year and for those racial tensions that continue to mount and the declining economy and for the fact that while the rest of the world finds you especially charming, you are still generally viewed as inferior corn-fed rubes and for that horrible humidity and that most of the population in Florida is either waiting to die or an alligator and I guess I already covered this but shit, Northern armies burned down the entire city of Atlanta back in 1864 and...jeez...it's been kind of rough on you guys for the last 150 years, huh? I'm so sorry. But I guess the sad truth is that there is a disturbing parallel between hardship and creative output and that's maybe why so much great music has come out of the South in the last 150 years. Either that or it was magic peach pie.

Why we in the United States should be afraid of Canada:

1.) Ninety percent of population is massed within 100 miles of northern American border.

2.) Seems not to mind that one of its provinces has turned almost entirely French.

3.) Excessive politeness only makes sense as cover for something truly sinister. But what?

4.) Citizens seem strangely impervious to cold.

5.) Decriminalization of marijuana and acceptance of gay marriage without corresponding collapse of social institutions indicate Canada may, in fact, be indestructible.

6.) Has infiltrated entertainment industry with singers, actors, and comedians practically indistinguishable from their American counterparts.

7.) Consistently stays just below cultural radar yet never quite disappears.

8.) Parliamentary government and common-law judiciary appear to function acceptably yet remain completely inscrutable.

Why we in the United States shouldn't be afraid of Canada:

1.) In the last 6 years, a lot of great indie rock has consistently come out of there. Way more than Delaware. A little bit of punk. A little bit of post-punk/new wave but mainly, they're all about the here and now in Canada. So my show on this night focused generally on the here and now. Yes, I've been doing Post-Punk For Post-Punks for post-punks and anyone else who will listen for a little over a year now. And in that last year, I've made a lot of mistakes. This show was about atoning for some of those mistakes. The ones, at least, I made on the radio. Of course, by trying to atone for those mistakes I made on my radio show via another radio show means that I will probably make more mistakes, necessitating yet another show to atone of that show's mistakes, thus insuring that I will never be able to effectively cleanse my soul, the world, etc. of all of my errors. I think this is what's known as a paradox. Until the explosion. Then it becomes something else entirely. Although not a paradigm. That's just something stupid people say to sound intelligent. And by calling something out as being something that stupid people say to sound intelligent, I'm also now doing something that stupid people say to sound intelligent. Unless of course that I call out that I've called it out. But then I just have to do it again. This may be another paradox. Or a cry for help.

On this night, we celebrated and remembered the sub-genre of post-punk known as Industrial. The next night, we didn't. I'm not sure what we remembered or celebrated. I'll tell you what we neither remembered nor celebrated: a clown band or clown bands. We saw one of these at the DNA Lounge. The biggest problem with a clown band is that they seem to feel like just being clowns is enough. You see, clowns are funny, scary, tragically absured, hackneyed, etc. And here are some clowns playing instruments and singing and stuff. It's crazy, right? Worth the price of admission, wrong? In the old days, a band could have a gimmick look but that was only the beginning of their creativity. Now it's the end, even when their gimmick is as non-creative as clowns. That alone took all of the creativity juice. Tequila. Not to be confused with psychic juice, which is also tequila.

But we can forever remember the night we remembered industrial music through the mp3 recording of the show below. And I can remember the clown band every night when I sleep, as it has already replaced the giant whale in my recurring nightmares:

In a completely zany move, so madcap I can only describe it in all caps, I went in on Monday to do a radio show. You see, I'm a loose cannon. A rebel that plays by his own rules. My last partner was a talking cat. The chief will probably have my badge but I still went in to the show, even though that badge only had 2 more weeks until retirement.

I would normally be doing the show right now but I can't do it because I have to be here to post on this blog that I'm not doing the show. I just really value communication. Mainly because people are always saying things like, "communication is important. Honesty is important." But then these are the same people that say "too much information" when I try to be communicative with them. I would have thought nobody said "too much information" any more. Like it died with "don't go there" and "talk to the hand" back a the tail end of the nineties. But I guess people just couldn't part with that one. It was too sweet of a plum. They'd rather see the dotcom bubble burst completely and thousands of companies go belly up than lose the ability to drop a "too much information" in that voice you're supposed to say it in.

So let me say again that I am not doing the show tonight and in the spirit of NOT giving too much information, let me say that it is due to technical issues. I don't know what these technical issues are but I know they have nothing to do with sex, diarrhea, my shattered psyche, or any of the other types of information generally considered to be too much.

I do know that if you're trying to decide between 1 of those 3 aforementioned restaurants and you feel like yelling, pick TGI Fridays. If you like to yell a lot while you eat, go with them.

But the reason for this metaphor is that I took great songs off of great albums, mixed them up with the sizzling triple meat fundido, and played them on my show. These are great albums where pretty much every song is good and distinct and has meaning. You don't just "download" a "track" from "iTunes" and send your "friend" a "text message" about it. You go down to a record store and buy the whole album. That is, if you can still find a record store. Which you almost certainly can't any more. So maybe just go to TGI Fridays instead. At least you can yell about it there.

This show was like a movie with one of those twist endings. It was all disco music but it didn't come from disco bands but I was dead the whole time. You weren't really listening to me on the radio. You were talking to yourself. I was also really a woman. And it was a dream. Oh, and that statue of liberty at the very end? Yep, Earth all along.

But like any great twist ending, it's always fun to watch, or in this case, listen to the show again to see if you can spot all of the twist hints. The Rumble in the Jungle. Long before Vanilla Ice, long before Eminem, punks were the 1st generation of whities that attempted to co-opt what was considered an extremely black form of music. Sure, they may not have been as good and talented as Vanilla Ice but I think but I think the integration of reggae and dub into punk and post-punk music left us with some great songs. It also gave the genre a moist towellette of freshness.

Sure, most people don't want to die and it certainly brings me down to think that sooner or later, it will happen to me too but then I just try to think of all the other people that are also going to die. I was hoping to come back tonight but work and the moon got in the way. I will definitely make it back next Friday though. Friday the 13th, that is. What could possibly go wrong? Of course, now that I've said that, the answer is everything. Shit, I guess I haven't learned anything from the movies. Actually, I did learn one thing. In all of those movies where an animal does something that only people are supposed to do (like when the dog plays on the basketball team, the monkey runs for president, etc.), the animal is always allowed to do this because there was never anything in the rulebook explicitly prohibiting it. No one ever bothers to write down something like, "Rule #47A: No dogs are allowed to participate on the basketball team." They just assume it would never happen.

Well like I've said, I've learned from these movies, so from this day forward, let it be officially known that NO DOGS OR MONKEYS OR ANY OTHER ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED TO DO MY RADIO SHOW, EVEN IF THEY ARE CUTE, EVEN IF THEY ARE LOVEABLE, EVEN IF THEY HELP A YOUNG BOY LEARN A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT SELF-ESTEEM WHILE GETTING OVER THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF HIS FATHER AND HIS RECENT, DIFFICULT MOVE TO A NEW TOWN. 9/15/06 Show - Love Part 3: The Sex

Yes, part 3 in my 3-part series of love. Sex. The final piece in a madman's demon self-portrait. First we covered the tears. Then we rebounded with sweetness. Now it's back to tears again. In an effort to bring sexy back, all of the songs I played have to do with sex. As part of that same effort, I made sure that none of them referenced being raped anally by a bear. That will be another show.

As if to give you an a propos wry little chuckle, this particular show was shorter than normal. I'm back to 2-hours now. There were also some technical problems. Are you still chuckling a propos-ly? Well knock it off. A few of the songs suffered from brief hiccups. Like tiny bits of songs kept cutting out. Sadly, the sputtering gay orgasm part of "Relax" was affected by this. Me later saying, "sputtering gay orgasm" was affected too. But don't let it ruin our precious time together. If you listen to the mp3 and the problem starts happening, hang in there. Stay strong. Just in time for Grandparents Day, I go undercover to investigate the happier, sweeter side of romance in this, the second installment of my 3-part series about love. In my research, I was able to learn a little something about love but like many others, I'm still left with many questions about the song, "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by The Charlie Daniels Band. First and foremost: The Devil won that fiddling contest, right? Because isn't that totally amazing fiddle feedback thing the Devil plays a hundred times better than that high-school-band piece-of-crap tune Johnny plays? And since the Devil is so clearly better, why does he lay the golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet? What kind of one-sided bet was that anyway, your eternal soul for a fiddle? Shouldn't it have been something like Johnny's soul or the eradication of Evil? If the Devil went down to Georgia cause he was looking for a soul to steal, why does he arrange what appears to be an honest competition? And who was judging that contest? Was it an honor-system kind of thing? With the Devil? If you're Johnny, what do you even want with a golden fiddle? Does a golden fiddle really sound good to play vs. a wooden instrument? Does he think he's going to display it in his home and tell people the story of how he beat the Devil? Who's going to believe that? Was it really necessary or wise to invite the Devil to come on back if he ever wants to try again? Cause what does Johnny need, a second golden fiddle? Why would the Devil need an invitation anyway?

Anyway, I realize that since the world's finest scholars have been completely baffled by these questions for the last 26 years, there's certainly no way I'm going to get to the bottom of it. Rock 'N Roll began in the Midwest. Well, not really but it was a Midwesterner that first coined the term "Rock 'N Roll". By the way, before I write "Rock 'N Roll" one more time, can you tell if I'm writing it correctly? Should the apostrophe be after the "N" or before? Or both? I've never quite figured that whole 'N (or N' or 'N') business out. Anyway, it was a DJ from Cleveland that first said it and the world has been confused ever since.

And in these times of confusion, I have found that downloading MP3s can be a soothing escape from the swirling madness of the streets. By the way, is it "MP3's" or "MP3s"? No 7/14 Show - Damnit!!!

We weren't broadcasting again due to more technical problems and the only guy that could fix them was in Eastern Europe this week, along with all the other guys that are the only guys that can fix particular things. I guess they're having a convention or something, talking about those things that only they can fix and what kinds of issues arrise from such a dynamic.

So for the next few days, the world will be broken in very specific ways. But hopefully next week, everything will be fixed again and my show will be up here.
